Claudia Gómez

Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Claudia Gómez is a contemporary jewellery artist based in Montréal, Canada. With a background in fashion design and a degree in economics, she has explored jewellery as a form of artistic expression since 1999. After moving to Canada in 2004, she developed an artistic practice spanning several disciplines, including photography, drawing, and collage.

Since returning to her artistic practice in 2019, she has developed collections exploring organic forms, materials, and the connections between observation, research, and experimentation. In 2022, she collaborated with artist and photographer Jennifer McIntyre on Water Forms in Light and Metal. Some pieces from this collection were exhibited at Milano Jewelry Week that same year. She also participated in the annual exhibitions of Convergence, a Québec-based artist collective whose events have been covered by INT.design magazine.

Her subsequent projects explore the spiral and epithelial cells. With Inner Ecology, she continues her research through human biology and her personal experience with celiac disease. Working with metal, enamel, thermoformed textiles, and other materials, she transforms invisible biological structures into forms of contemporary jewellery.

In 2026, she received the Prix d’excellence durant la formation at École des métiers du Sud-Ouest-de-Montréal (EMSOM), where she completed her diploma in jewellery making.
